Ocala Soap Box Derby, Inc. (OSBD) is a volunteer
organization of community minded individuals who have
come together to organize and sponsor the local Soap
Box Derby.  We are a non-profit organization (501c3)
and all donations are tax deductible.  We are dependent
upon the generous support of the community and our
partners to operate.

Through the generous donations of local business,
community organizations, and individuals, we own about
35 cars that we make available to local children (ages 8
to 17) to drive and compete in local rallies and the race.
There are three styles of cars -- stock, super stock, and
masters.  Each has its own set of weight and age
restrictions.

The rallies and race are held on Cypress Road in Silver
Springs Shores and the parking area of Georgia Pacific
Corporation is used as the pit.  The winners of the May
Race will advance on to the 72nd running of the All
American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio.
ALL AMERICAN RACE  - MAY 5, 2012

The All American Race features only local (our franchise area) drivers.  It is a double
elimination race.  The winner of each division advances on to the National Championships
held in Akron, Ohio each July.  Financial Assistance is provided to each winner for the trip to
Akron.  Each child that enters the race will receive a t-shirt (which must be worn on race day)
and a trophy.  Following the race is the banquet held at the SSS Presbyterian Church.
